Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your data when comparing Bitcoin-backed loans.
Last updated: August 26, 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to operate Pledge effectively. We believe in data minimization — we only collect what we need to provide you with a useful service.
Newsletter email — This is the only personal information we collect. If you subscribe to the Pledge newsletter through the signup form on our homepage, we collect your email address. Subscriptions are managed through our newsletter platform, Buttondown, and emails are sent through Resend.
Local browser storage — Some interactive tools keep small preferences (such as saved comparisons) in your own browser's local storage. This stays on your device and is not personal information collected by us.
No intake or concierge data — An earlier version of this policy described a concierge / large-loan intake desk that collected details such as name, BTC holdings band, loan size, jurisdiction, and notes. Those intake forms have been removed and no longer exist — none of that information is collected.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used exclusively to improve your experience on Pledge. Specifically, we use it to:
- Provide and improve our comparison and analysis tools
- Send newsletter updates you opted into (every Thursday — unsubscribe anytime)
- Understand aggregate usage patterns and improve our content
3. What We Do Not Do
Our privacy commitments
- ✓We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes
- ✓We do not store financial account credentials or cryptocurrency wallet information
- ✓We do not track you across other websites
- ✓We do not use your data to train AI models or sell to data brokers
4. Affiliate Links & Third Parties
Pledge currently has no affiliate or referral links. When you follow any outbound link to a lender or provider, that platform may set its own cookies and tracking pixels. Pledge may record a server-side click event so referral status (currently: none active) and outbound-link performance can be audited; if a paid relationship is ever added, the link will be labeled inline.
Important: We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any personal information.
5. Data Retention
We do not keep your data longer than necessary:
- Newsletter email address — Retained until you unsubscribe
- Local browser storage (saved preferences) — Stays in your browser; it is removed when you clear your browser or site data. We do not retain a copy.
6. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.
California residents: You have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
